CREATION – THE UNTOLD.

I have been very reluctant in writing today’s piece. Mostly because it is a revelative teaching, and these kinds of teachings take some level of boldness to transfer to another person. It’s one thing to be convicted about it, and another thing to willingly teach it to another person, knowing that revelation does not always come in full, and over time you may look back and realize a thing or two need tweeking in your teaching. I have given in to the urge to write because even though it’s rather common knowledge for some people, it’ll be new information to many others; and much like with other topics, what I seek to do is to expose whoever’s reading to enough foundation to further study for themselves, like the noble men of Berea in Acts 17:11 who went back to verify everything Paul taught them. With that said, let’s launch right into it! 🤸🏽‍

One of the biggest arguments against the teaching of the creation of man is that there are inconsistent accounts of when man was created. The creation of man is first mentioned in Genesis 1:26 – 28:

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion…over earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

And then in Genesis 2:4-5, when the sixth day had ended and the Lord had rested on the seventh day, the Bible says something rather confusing:

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

It looks as though this was another account of creation, or that God created man again in Chapter 2:7:

Then the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

And not long after Adam, Eve came in Chapter 2:21-22:

the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

Three different things happened in these accounts that sound contradictory but really aren’t. God created man first, formed him, and then breathed in man to make him a living being. These were three different things. The Lord said through the Prophet Isaiah [43:7], when He spoke about the redemption of Israel:

“…everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

Three different action words. They are synonyms in English, but are different words with different meanings in the original language they were written in – Hebrew.

The word create in Hebrew is ‘bârâ’ meaning to bring something into existence out of nothing.

To form is ‘yâtsar’ which Strong defines as molding or fashion into a form or frame.

And then make is âśâh’ which alludes to the totality of the coming into existence of a thing.

Don’t get confused, I’ll explain🤗. In Genesis 1:26, the GodHead decided to make man in their image and likeness. I hear this scripture a lot when someone is mocked for having a big nose or flappy ears😂 But the GodHead did not have the body we have now at the time of this deliberation😂! So what image and what likeness were they referring to – that of a soul, of a personality, of an existence that was conscious. And when it was time to execute, verse 27 says God created, He ‘bârâ-ed’ man. He brought into existence an entity that did not exist, created out of nothing. The soul of man was created – his will, his thoughts, his intellect, the very traits that made God a personality were imbibed into this entity. Here’s what we were never told though:

The man and woman were created at the same time!

Look at Chapter 1 verse 27 again:

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply…have dominion” etc.

The physical man had not come into existence. So you realize even in the next chapter, Chapter 2:5 when God had rested, the bible said there was no man to till the ground, so God caused a mist to come up from under the ground to till it. And in the very next verse, God formed the body of man from the dust of the earth – man was ‘yâtsar-ed’. Here’s another thing no one told us:

Both the man and female souls were put into the man! 🙃

The Bible says God said he was creating man – singular – but He created them – both male and female, and then decided to form that ‘them-man’ from the dust of the earth. God did not place the male-man in a formed body and leave the female-man hovering around as a soul. He put both into the formed man.

Genesis 5:1-2 makes this abundantly clear:

This is the book of the generations of Adam.
In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Then God breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being. The man’s [representing both man and woman] spirit was born. It is this spirit that lay within his newly formed body that gave life both to that lifeless body and the male and female souls that were long created in Chapter 1. It was at this point that man was fully made – ‘âśâh-ed’.

It was after this that God created a physical habitat for Adam to dwell in – a Garden eastern in Eden [2:8]. Soon after, God realized that in the physical nature in which man existed, it was not good for him to be alone; he had no help. So realize what God did? He did not create a soul, form a body and breath into it. He put man to sleep, and removed from his insides the woman. I cannot yet explain why it was a rib that represented the woman’s soul, because surely God had not run out of bones😆. But the Bible says in verse 22, God made [not yâtsar-ed’, like the man, but ‘panah-ed’, meaning skillfully formed/built] the woman

And that is the mystery and the power of marriage – returning to one flesh, subduing and exercising dominion which was given to the soul of the man and woman long before a body was formed. There are soo many more mysteries that flow from this understanding – the work of salvation in a man’s spirit that must be worked outwardly by his soul, the Kingdom of God and the fact of its dominion in oneness, Christ and His Bride, the death of a man when his breath/spirit leaves his body, discipleship and why we win ‘souls’, why we will reason and feel in eternity, the reality of laid-down systems at play in both the physical and spiritual realm, so many more.

But if this is your first time hearing any of this, it very likely sounds absolutely absurd and too heretic to process all at once😅…I know. You may probably have to read it again, slowly, a few more times, but like I have said, be like the noble men of Berea. Search the Scriptures for yourself, seek understanding, and ask the Lord to teach you. Do hit me up if you’d like us to talk! Till we meet again on a lighter note [hopefully😁], stay rooted, love!
