There was a season in Christendom in the part of the world I’m from in which the most popular word was BREAKTHROUGH. We still have some residue of it – a lot of people shouting 🗣 ‘Ameeennnn’ to the pastor’s “It’s time for your breakthrough!!”
But what if it’s not?🤷🏽
What if this is your pruning time? What if now’s when you should be fixing that attitude that may cost you the opportunity your breakthrough will bring? What if now’s the time to serve and understudy and develop the skill set you need for that big breakthrough coming? What if now’s when you’re supposed to nurture the fruit of patience and long-suffering?
The Lord tests; He refines us as silver is refined. [Psalm 66:10]
Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. [Romans 5:3-5]
For the hope you hold NOT to disappoint, it’ll mean that the thing you were hoping for, manifested, and when it did, it birthed the outcome you were looking for in that breakthrough.
So what if your breakthrough isn’t an explosion-like fall of a wall of Jericho but a gradual process that only looks like breakthrough on hindsight, like a 10-year prison term waiting to metamorphose into the office of a Prime Minister? [Joshua 6, Genesis 39].
Discern the times and seasons of your life, friend. It is NOT always time for your breakthrough.
